How We Use Your Information
- To provide recipe digitization and structuring services

AI Processing
- When you upload a recipe, we may send the image and extracted text to AI and OCR processors to read handwriting or print, detect recipe content, structure ingredients and steps, and create a short preview.
- We currently use Google Cloud Document AI for OCR and OpenAI for recipe understanding. We may also use Anthropic for recipe understanding when that capability is enabled for your environment.
- When you explicitly request recipe enhancements, AI may propose edits. Proposals are not part of your recipe until you accept them.
- When you explicitly request a generated dish image, AI creates an interpretive image. It is not a photograph of your actual dish, and it is stored separately from your uploaded scan.
- We do not use Boundary Studio or similar third-party prompt-tracing tools for your recipe content.
- We send a hashed safety identifier—not your email—to OpenAI when required by that API. We do not put recipe text or images into analytics tools.
How We Share Your Information
Service Providers
- Google Cloud Platform — application hosting, database, object storage, and Document AI OCR
- OpenAI — AI processing for recipe digitization and, when you request them, enhancements or generated images
- Anthropic — AI processing for recipe digitization and enhancements when enabled
- Stytch — authentication
- Stripe — payment processing
- PostHog — product analytics (usage events, not recipe bodies or images)
Recipe Sharing
- Recipes are only shared according to your privacy settings
- Public recipes are visible to other Tradish users
- Private recipes are only visible to your account
Data Security
- Encryption in transit to our services and providers
- Access controls and authenticated API sessions
- Private object storage for recipe media with signed delivery where applicable
- Operational monitoring without storing raw AI prompts or completions in logs
Retention and Deletion
- We keep your account and recipe records while your account is active.
- You may delete individual recipes in the app (they are hidden from your library) or delete your account.
- Account deletion removes your authentication record, recipe-related database records, and uploaded recipe and profile media from our object storage.
- Soft-deleted recipes remain in storage until you delete your account.
- AI providers may process data according to their terms for a limited time; we minimize what we send and stop sending data after your account is deleted.
